| RBE-sleeve |
|
I saw this woman in a department store. She was somewhere between 30 and 40 and RBE, i.e. her right arm was missing from below the elbow. She didn't wear a prosthesis and she didn't seem to care the least to hide her handicap. The stump below the elbow was very short.
She had a hand-bag hanging on her stump. The stump was turned inwards, towards her body, and she didn't pay attention to the empty part of her sleeve. I was there for everybody to look at it and it made her look very, very one-armed. She was wearing a skirt but I had become so excited that I forgot to look at her legs. I was totally absorbed by her short arm. It was very fascinating to observe when she paying for something she had bought. She put the purse on her stump and had some difficulties in having remain there while she was picking up money from it. It was very exciting to see her move her short arm and the flaccid empty part of the sleeve flap around out of her controll. The last I saw of her was when she and her female companion made their way to a parking place. I didn't dare to follow them. But I would have liked to. |
